In the T20I series, Salman Mirza made his international debut in Bangladesh in July 2025. In the entire series, he collected seven wickets in total, which is a strong start from his side in an international match.

In the recent T20I against South Africa, he was again in his good form and scored the figures of 3/14, which not only helped in reducing the total of South Africa, but also helped Pakistan in chasing the target smoothly.

Salman Mirza stands out from other ballers because of his clear mentality and goals about what he has to do in the match. His skills and form help him achieve the target that he has set for himself.

When asked in interviews about India’s aggressive and explosive batting style on the field in any tournament, he answered by saying that he welcomes India’s batting style, instead of fearing it, and would love to bowl against Indian batsmen.

• Adaptability: During the matches and tournaments, conditions will not remain the same. Therefore, Salman Mirza will have to work on adapting to the different conditions and taking wickets.
• Fitness & Longevity: In a sport like cricket, fitness matters a lot, especially for fast and pace bowlers like Salman Mirza. Staying fit mentally and physically will be very important in his career.
• Consistency: In order to play important matches and play those matches with the team on the field, Salman Mirza needs to be consistent with his performance and be in his form.
• Role Definition: As Pakistan’s cricket team already has amazing and senior pacers like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, who are not only fan favorites but also have a lot of experience,  Salman Mirza needs to select a clear role for himself that will suit his skills and form.

The Bigger Picture

Salman Mirza has the ability to perform in high-pressure matches, which will help Pakistan in tournaments having formats like T20s and white-ball, which will help them in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

Adding a new fast bowler will help Pakistan sustain its legacy and history of fast bowling, but Salman Mirza will add a new youthful energy to the team and will help Pakistan’s cricket team in developing fresh pace from left-arm and seam-friendly angles.

The current form of Salman Mirza is more than just a raw talent; it is a perfect mixture of skill, consistency, and opportunity. He has shown the sign of being a weapon for the team, and helping them become the champions in the cricket tournaments.

He must handle pressure and tense situations in tournaments while being able to maintain his form.
